About Us Surrounding ourselves with people who are passionate about technology and customer service has been the hallmark of our success.

In 2002, Dataworks Consulting was founded by Jason and Caroline Smith, a husband and wife team, to provide First Class Technical Services to small and medium sized businesses who were not well suited by "fix-it shops" that come in, fix a problem, and then never to be seen again.

Right from the beginning, it was clear we were providing something our clients had never experienced—high-end, proactive, and personalized support. This approach has proven so successful, the entire rapid growth of our business (to nearly a dozen employees) has been built on word of mouth referrals alone.

We only hire seasoned IT professionals. As such, we have nearly 100 years of combined experience in IT consulting, programming, and systems support.  We provide our clients a chance to form close relationships with the consultants that service their account. This relationship is highly valued on both sides, and makes work even more exciting and rewarding. In fact, our employees are regularly invited to their clients' holiday parties and feel like they are an extension of their clients' staff. We hope to continue to provide this level of personalized service to our clients for many years to come.

Our Certifications
We believe that excellent IT service comes from a combination of experience and certification. In terms of certification, your Dataworks Consultant will have the appropriate Microsoft certifications, such as the MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) and MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional).

Dataworks Consulting is also a Microsoft Registered Partner. This gives us access to the most senior technical support engineers at Microsoft—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. So, in the unlikely event that we can't address your problem, we have other experts we can call.

But note that certification alone is not enough to guarantee that your IT consultant knows what he or she is doing. We have made sure that we hire only the best. Your consultant will not only have the right certifications, but also have years of industry experience and possess an excellent customer-service focus.

Fees
We work on a time and materials basis, with no long term contracts.  We always joke with our clients that you can “Hire us today, and fire us tomorrow”.  We strongly believe that we should be motivated to keep our clients by providing world class customer service—not because of a “contractual obligation”.  After we meet with you to discuss your company's IT needs, we will provide you with an estimate and a scope of work so you can budget accordingly.  Using our internal system, we can also help you track monthly IT budgets on a daily basis to make sure IT expenditures don’t’ get out of hand.

Response Time
We know that time lost to crashed or malfunctioning servers or PCs (not to mention printers) is both frustrating and costly. Your employees are less productive and stressed out when their computing environment is unstable. We know that you need your IT support provider to respond quickly and efficiently in order to reduce your company's downtime.  Our baseline computer and network support includes an excellent response time.
